Marshall County Deputies arrested a 31-year-old man early Wednesday morning on charges of operating a motor vehicle while impaired, following a report from a concerned citizen.
At approximately 6:30 AM on Wednesday, November 26, Marshall County Central Dispatch received a call from an individual reporting a vehicle they believed was being driven by someone sleepy or impaired. Deputies on patrol were notified and quickly located the suspect vehicle.
Upon observing the vehicle, deputies noted it was failing to maintain its lane. A traffic stop was initiated, and following an investigation, the driver, identified as Jair Alfonso Garcia Guzman, 31, was taken into custody.
Guzman was transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked on a $1,500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
