Pulaski County deputies responded to an early morning reported domestic assault at 300 North and 300 West. When officers arrived, they located a female victim with visible injuries. She was removed from the residence for her safety and treated by Pulaski EMS before being transported to Pulaski Memorial Hospital for further care.
The suspect attempted to avoid arrest by hiding inside a residence and barricading himself in a trailer. Deputies from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, along with officers from the Winamac Police Department, deployed a K9 unit and drones while giving multiple commands for the suspect to exit peacefully.
After a warrant was obtained officers entered the residence and located the suspect attempting to hide under a couch. The suspect then assaulted officers and K9 Tiko before being subdued and taken into custody.
The suspect was transported to the hospital for treatment and is currently being held pending investigation and formal charges.
