On May 27th an officer with the Plymouth Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation at Michigan Street and Skylane Drive.
The driver was identified as Lesvin Lopez-Colindres, 33 of North Plum Street in Plymouth. Lopez-Colindres was found to have never been issued a driver's license, resulting in his arrest for operator never licensed. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in at 11:08 p.m. His cash bond was paid at 11:26 and Lopez-Colindres was released on bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
