The IDOC is continuing it's investigation after the body of a 5 year old female juvenile was recovered late Friday evening from the Wabash River at Vincennes
At around 2:40 p.m. ET Friday, Knox County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a child who had been playing in the river near Kimmell Park had disappeared. Multiple agencies responded to the scene and began search efforts by boat, sonar and dive teams. At 7:15 p.m. ET, the body of the female juvenile was recovered by IDOC divers near the park boat ramp. Authorities added that as a result of the initial investigation into the death, 26 year old Deonna Hollingsworth of Vincennes was arrested and preliminarily charged with Neglect of a Dependent (causing death). The juvenile female's family has been notified with no other information forthcoming until the conclusion of the investigation.
