The Illinois State Police (ISP) have announced the results of an Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement (ACE) action this week in neighboring Wabash County.
The detail on Wednesday, April 1st was conducted at various establishments to determine if any businesses had sold alcoholic beverages to minors under the age of 21. A total of 18 locations were visited with five establishments in the city of Mt. Carmel involved in the illegal sale of alcohol to a minor. The employees at those locations were ticketed for Unlawful Delivery of Alcoholic Liquor to a Minor, a Class A Illinois misdemeanor.
The ultimate goal of the ACE details is to enforce underage drinking laws and save lives by preventing impaired driving crashes and fatalities.
