At about 9 a.m. on October 16th, Officer Witkowski was dispatched to the intersection. The victim described a Red Jeep Liberty fleeing the scene eastbound on Markley Drive.
Police located a Red Jeep Liberty in the parking lot of the Super 8 Motel with heavy front-end damage. The driver, 56-year-old Thomas E Huntress of Warsaw, was found to be extremely intoxicated.
Huntress was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail with charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a Blood Alcohol Content of .15 or more.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
