On Saturday just before 8 p.m., Marshall County Officer Wozniak conducted a traffic stop on a blue 2015 Hyundai on U.S. 31 in the area of Kenilworth Road.
During the investigation, a probable cause search of the vehicle was completed and the officer located multiple THC vape cartridges, as well as THC edibles, and approximately 140 grams of suspected marijuana.
The driver, 38-year-old Starlyn M. Abel of Indianapolis, was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail for possession of marijuana. He was held on a $500 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
