Indiana State Police Announces the Appointment of F/Sgt. Bob Burgess to Captain

Indiana State Police Superintendent Anthony M. Scott has recently announced the appointment of First Sergeant Bob Burgess to the rank of Captain. In his new role, Captain Burgess will serve as the Special Investigations Commander.

Captain Burgess is a graduate of the 59th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy, completing his training in June of 2000. He was assigned to the Peru Post, where he primarily patrolled Cass County.

Over the course of his service with the Indiana State Police, Captain Burgess has demonstrated consistent leadership and professionalism. He has held multiple key positions, including Detective, Marijuana Eradication/Meth Suppression Coordinator and Investigator, and District Investigative Commander.

In addition to his core duties, Captain Burgess has made significant contributions to various specialized teams and training programs. He has served as a Field Training Officer, Emergency Vehicle Operations (EVOC) Instructor, and a valued member of the Mobile Field Force Team (TIP).

Captain Burgess is a lifelong resident of Cass County.
