A renovation was given its official unveiling with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Indiana National Guard armory in Shelby County.
The nearly $16 million renovation added more than 7,000 feet to the facility that dates back to 1971. The renovations brought the armory up to code requirements including improvements to restrooms, showers and mechanical systems. A sprinkler system was added along with extra parking and a complete stormwater management system.
Over 400 National Guard soldiers call the armomy on Michigan Road their home for training and operations.
