Indiana Association of School Principals honors Webster Elementary Principal, Booke Bussee, as District 2 Principal of the Year

Plymouth Community School Corporation is proud to announce that Webster Elementary Principal Brooke Busse has been named the IASP District 2 Principal of the Year by the Indiana Association of School Principals.

This prestigious recognition honors outstanding school leaders who demonstrate excellence in educational leadership, student achievement, school culture, and community engagement.

Brooke has dedicated nearly 20 years to education and has served as principal at Webster Elementary School for the past six years. Throughout her leadership, she has focused on building a collaborative, student-centered culture where both students and staff feel supported, valued, and inspired to succeed.

“One of the accomplishments I am most proud of is the culture we built together at our school,” Brooke shared. “We fostered a truly collaborative environment where staff came together each day ready to work hard, problem-solve, and do whatever was needed to support students.”

Under her leadership, Webster Elementary has experienced significant academic growth while maintaining a strong emphasis on relationships, teamwork, and student well-being. Brooke credits the success of the school to the dedication of the entire Webster staff and school community.

“Receiving this recognition is truly humbling, but honestly, I feel it reflects the work of our entire staff more than any one individual,” she said. “Everything we have accomplished has been the result of teamwork, collaboration, and a shared commitment to doing what is best for students every single day.”

Brooke’s leadership style is described as supportive, relationship-centered, and focused on high expectations. She believes strong schools are built through trust, collaboration, and ensuring students know they belong.

Following the challenges brought on by COVID-19, Webster Elementary worked together to rebuild academic routines, support students’ social-emotional needs, and create opportunities for growth and success. Brooke emphasized that the experience reinforced the importance of resilience, teamwork, and maintaining a student-centered focus.

In addition to her work inside the school, Brooke values strong partnerships with families and the community. She believes community engagement creates a shared sense of pride and ownership that strengthens the entire school culture.

“Every decision I make comes back to what is best for kids and how we can create opportunities for them to grow, succeed, and feel supported,” Brooke said.
