The Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigations has announced the results of Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement (A.C.E.) surveillance patrols at various establishments in Lawrence County along with Clark, Jasper, Richland and Wayne Counties during the month of April. The patrols were conducted to determine which businesses may be selling alcoholic beverages to minors (persons under the age of 21). A total of 65 locations were surveyed during the action and 25 of those were involved in the sale of alcohol to a minor. 6 of those locations were in Lawrence County. The employees involved were cited for Unlawful Delivery of Alcohol to a Minor, a Class A Illinois misdeameanor and released with notices to appear in court.
