With the help of the Plymouth Police Department Facebook page, a homeless man was identified, and a tip on Crimestoppers landed him in the Marshall County Jail.
On Saturday, July 26th, a man reported to Plymouth Police that he had misplaced his wallet and debit card. When he contacted the bank, there was an unauthorized transaction at the Red D Mart located at 422 North Michigan Street in Plymouth.
Plymouth Police obtained a photo of the suspect using the debit card from a surveillance camera and posted it on the Department's Facebook page. The male was identified as 43-year-old Joshua McCarty. A tip on Crimestoppers revealed that McCarty was living under U.S. 30 at the Michigan Street overpass.
Detective Workman with Plymouth Police located McCarty under the overpass on Tuesday, July 29th. He was interviewed and then lodged at the Marshall County Jail for theft.
