Life just went to a new level for the Amanda Gudas and her family of four this week, who received the keys to their new home at 529 W 6th St. in Rochester during a dedication ceremony Wednesday evening.

Long time anticipated and made with sweat and blood thanks to volunteer work from board members, the Gudas family was also required to do 250 hours of community service. The work and wait was something Amanda said was well worth it, as she wiped away tears of joy during Wednesday's dedication ceremony.

A single mother to four children between the ages of 17 and 6 years old, Gudas said being able to move into their four-bedroom, two-bathroom home with a full basement is a dream come true for the family. Family, friends, community members and Fulton County Habitat for Humanity board members joined Amanda for the dedication ceremony to see the finished result of the home and give their final blessings. The celebration also marked it as being the 19th Habitat for Humanity home built in the county.
