Officer Krynock with the Plymouth Police Department was dispatched to the Kroger Gas Station on Saturday, March 18th at about 8:30 P.M. for an intoxicated male in a red Jeep.
The suspect, Jeffrey R. Melton, 56, of Grovertown was found to be intoxicated while operating his vehicle. During the investigation, it was determined that Melton’s Blood Alcohol Content was over 5x the legal limit.
Jeffery Melton was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was lodged for OWI and held on a $1,500 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
