A Greencastle juvenile was injured Wednesday evening following an accident involving a scooter and a vehicle.
According to the Greencastle Police Department, officers were dispatched to a call pertaining to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the area of Bloomington St. and Walnut St. Upon arrival, officers found a juvenile who had been struck by a vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle, a 2008 Chevy Silverado, was identified as Albert Elder, of Greencastle, and he stayed on the scene. Elder told police northbound traffic on Bloomington St. was stopped due to a red light. The juvenile, who was on the scooter, crossed into Bloomington Street at Walnut Street through the stopped traffic and was struck in the southbound lane.
Medics transported the juvenile, who was awake and alert, to Putnam County Hospital for evaluation.
No charges have been filed at this time.
