Fulton County Courthouse attic cleanup a topic for county commissioners

A difficult topic for some property owners. Also, for county assessors, who are left to explain major increases in many respects and take the brunt of the blame.

Fulton County Commissioner Rick Ranstead touches on that topic including recent reports on the aftermath of appeals for several cases within the county.

Maintenance involving the courthouse and other county structures led to approval of removing and getting rid of an old piece of technology and significant improvements for a parking lot.

In a related story, the Fulton County Clerk is looking to do some courthouse attic cleaning, too. Hers would require a move to digital records.

A request to seal the parking lot at the jail was also approved by commissioners. A bid had been delivered to the county offering to do that job at a cost of $12,900.
