Fulton County 4-H Fair underway through July 13

Tractor pulls, children’s activities, live music, a demolition derby and more await visitors at this year’s Fulton County 4-H Fair.  

The fair is underway through Saturday, July 13, and parking is free, thanks to various sponsors. A canned good donation is required to park free Thursday.  

Livestock shows begin today with poultry at 9 a.m. and sheep at 12:30 p.m.  

Horse and Pony classes also begin today with an 8:30 a.m. session and 6:30 p.m. classes. They continue at 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and the fun show is 5 p.m. Thursday. 

Tuesday is the rabbit show, starting at 8:30 a.m., and the beef show at 1 p.m. There is also a cat show at 6 p.m. Tuesday. 

On Wednesday, 4-Hers will drive their pigs into the ring for the swine show, which starts at 8 a.m.  

On Thursday is the goat show at 8:30 a.m. and the dairy show is 1 p.m. 

Supreme Master Showmanship is at 5 p.m. Thursday, and Saturday at 6 p.m. is the swine carcass show, also in the Jud Hudkins Arena. 

Extension homemakers serve a grab and go breakfast 7-10 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from the kitchen in the 4-H Community Building. 

Ladies Night at the Fair is 5-7 p.m. Thursday and features the annual cookie baking contest and a performance by the Fulton County Choral Club.  

The children’s pedal tractor pull registration starts at 5:30 p.m. Monday, with the little ones making a go for it at 6 p.m. west of the Everett Smith Building. 

From 5:30-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in the Everett Smith Building, Sweetcakes Entertainment will be set up for caricatures, face painting, balloon twisting and more.  

Silly Safari will bring its animal show to the Everett Smith Building at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday. 

The All American Circus will have two evening shows on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, as well as a free show for children at 11 a.m. Thursday.  

The Aerospace & Bottle Rocket Launch is 10 a.m. Friday in the parking lot of the Everett Smith Building.  

These other events will happen in the Clauson Amphitheater during the week: Tractor pull, 7 p.m. Tuesday, $10 admission or free with Pioneer Seed apparel; garden tractor pull, 7 p.m. Wednesday, free admission; Farmer Olympics, 7 p.m. Thursday, $5 admission, $40 to enter a team of four people; antique tractor pull, 5 p.m. Friday, free admission.  

The annual 4-H livestock auction starts at 5 p.m. Friday in the Jud Hudkins Arena, punctuated by the 7 p.m. Grand Champion Spotlight Sale. 

In addition to the demolition derby, which begins at 7 p.m. in the amphitheater with $10 admission, the fair’s last day on Saturday also features the 4-H Tractor, Lawn & Garden, Zero Turn Contest at 10 a.m.
