The Fulton County Community Foundation has awarded a $5,500 grant to The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, opening doors to new learning opportunities for local students through the Museum’s newly established Field Trip Fund.
Beginning in 2028, the Field Trip Fund will provide unlimited free field trips for all Fulton County schools, in perpetuity, eliminating admission fees that often present barriers for schools and families. The initiative will also provide free classroom resources aligned with Indiana learning standards, as well as on-site and virtual school programs across arts, sciences, and humanities.
“The announcement of the Field Trip Fund is the perfect way to celebrate the Children’s Museum’s 100th birthday! Indiana schools were instrumental to our founding back in 1925, and we are so proud of this step to increase field trip access for schools across the state,” said Tyler Van Wyngarden, Grant Writer and Foundation Relations Officer at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. “As Indiana schools continue to rebound from COVID-19, field trips and other immersive learning experiences are more important than ever. We’re so proud to make these experiences more accessible and hopefully enable even more Fulton County students to visit the Museum each year.”
This grant was made possible through the generosity of donors to community funds at the Fulton County Community Foundation.
