A controlled burn got out of control Monday prompting a call for help.
The Bellmore Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to raccoon State Park . Bellmore called mutual aid from Rockville - Adams Township fire department along with additional manpower and resources from Montezuma and Marshall. It took a couple of hours to get under control.
A drone was used to get an area review of what had burned, and where the hotspots were still located.
Fire officials remind you to use caution while burning during these dry conditions.
Belmore was also assisted by the US Army Corps of Engineers - Park Rangers.
