The City of Kokomo will begin downtown resurfacing work starting Monday, May 25, with milling operations beginning at 11 p.m. Paving operations are scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 26, also at 11 p.m.
Work will take place nightly from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., with streets expected to reopen to traffic by 8 a.m. each morning.
The following areas will be affected:
• Sycamore Street from Main Street to Buckeye Street
• Buckeye Street from Sycamore Street to Walnut Street
• Walnut Street from Buckeye Street to Main Street
• Main Street from Walnut Street to the Wildcat bridge
• Superior Street from Main Street to Union Street
• Union Street from Superior Street to the Wildcat bridge
Night work is planned to help reduce traffic disruptions and improve paving efficiency. The project is expected to be completed by Wednesday, June 3.
