The Illinois Secretary of States Office has announced that the Mt. Carmel Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) facility in Wabash County will close on Friday, November 14th.
Reports say that a lease agreement for the West Second Street office location was not renewed by the state and according to the Secretary of State, the Mount Carmel driver's license office is ranked among the lowest in volume of transactions of the 122 DMV branches across the state.
Once the office in Mt. Carmel discontinues operation, Wabash County residents will be able to find services at the DMV offices in Lawrenceville, Fairfield, Olney and Carmi.
