A traffic stop on Sunday morning resulted in the arrest of a Knox man for driving without a license.
Sergeant Jordan Rans with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was on patrol and stopped a vehicle on State Road 17 west of Redwood Road at 11:29 a.m. for a traffic infraction.
During the investigation of the traffic infraction, the officer found that the driver, Oscar Juarez, 33, of Knox, was not licensed.
Juarez was arrested and taken to the Marshall County Jail for operating without a driver’s license, with a previous offense. The cash bond for his case was $500, and it was paid within 90 minutes, leading to Juarez’s release on bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
