The Marshall County Commissioners and council members will meet for a joint work session following Monday's County Council meeting.
The Council meeting is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. in room 203 of the County Building. There will be a 15-minute break between meetings, and it was estimated that the joint work session would begin at about 6 p.m.
Topics during the joint work session include a 5-Year Strategic Plan, a response to Senate Bill 1, Paser Rating and county road conditions by Highway Superintendent Jason Peters, Road Funding, Purchase of the Bowen Center Building on Illinois Street, the local Fire Department Grants from the county, the State of the County Financial Report by Council President Tim Harman, and a discussion on more stringent ethics guidelines and training.
Councilman Tim Harman attended the meeting and said that while work sessions are open to the public, they typically don’t accept public comments. Harman asked the commissioners to allow public comment during the joint work session on Monday, and they agreed.
