From noon to 5 p.m. Friday marks a significant day for CountryMark and the local community with the 16th anniversary of the Fueling Freedom event
During these five hours, 50 cents from every gallon of gasoline and diesel fuel sold will be donated to over 12 local organizations dedicated to supporting our military families.
Among the beneficiaries are the National Guard Family Readiness groups and the USO, organizations that play vital roles in the lives of service members and their families. The Family Readiness Groups fund a variety of activities, from sending care packages to deployed soldiers to organizing after-school programs for their children. They also host family picnics in the summer and Christmas dinners, fostering a sense of community and support. The USO, on the other hand, focuses on keeping American service members connected to their families and their country. Their programs support deployed troops, transitioning soldiers, and families of the fallen and injured.
This year will mark the 16th anniversary for CountryMark’s Fueling Freedom event. There are 35 CountryMark locations participating this year, and last year more than $65,000 was raised for local groups benefiting military families.
People can join in the effort at any participating CountryMark or Premier location to be a part of this event.
Area participating locations include:
Shelbyville - 1601 E SR 44 W
Greenfield - 230 W. Osage Street
Rushville - 627 W. 3rd
