With an excessive heat warning in effect, five locations in Fulton County have opened their doors to serve as cooling centers.
Those needing to escape the extremely hot daytime temperatures can go to the Aubbeenaubbee Community Building, 7410 Main St., Leiters Ford, the Kewanna Fire Station, 404 N. Toner St., Kewanna, the Recovery Cafe, 715 Main St., Rochester, the Fulton County Public Library's main branch, 320 W. Seventh St., Rochester, or its Fulton branch, 7420 Liberty Ave., Fulton.
Fulton County EMA Director Dawn Sewell reports that hours are limited to the heat and will extend through Wednesday at most of the locations, which are only to be used for the extreme heat of the day and are not intended for overnight stays.
Those needing further assistance are encouraged to call the EMA office at 574-223-6611.
