The City of Plymouth will have a second public electric vehicle charging station after the Common Council approved an agreement with MACOG to be a host site.
The City Council tabled its decision during the February 10 meeting because of concerns with some of the agreement's language, which could require the city to provide video surveillance, an emergency call box, and additional fire protection.
During last week’s meeting, City Attorney Jeff Houin presented a revised agreement clarifying that no improvements would be required unless the city agreed to them beforehand. MACOG also removed some items of concern from the agreement since they wouldn’t be needed for an outdoor charging station.
The new four charging ports will be located in the northwest corner of the parking lot, between the library's north end and 1st United Church of Christ.
The City Council unanimously approved the agreement. The charging stations will be installed last spring or early summer.
