Officers with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 30 and Plymouth Goshen Trail Wednesday evening, May 29th for a vehicle that was speeding.
Just before 6 p.m., Officer Fisher clocked a Chicago man driving at 78 MPH in a 60 MPH speed zone.
The driver was identified as 24-year-old Jhony Cruz Bolanos.
During the traffic stop, it was determined that Bolanos had never obtained a driver's license. He was taken into custody and transported to Marshall County Jail, where he was booked for driving without a license at 6:43 p.m. His cash bond was paid at 7:34 p.m. and he was released on bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
