A 30-year-old Bremen man faces operating while intoxicated charges after a single-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in the Lake of the Woods area.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department, along with Bremen Police, Fire, and EMS, responded to a single-vehicle accident on East Shore Drive near the intersection with Atlantic Street at Lake of the Woods at 4:56 p.m. on December 3rd.
The driver of a white 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was identified as Jacob Egenlauf, 30, of Bremen.
Through the investigation, officers established probable cause that Egenlauf had operated a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
According to the arrest report, certified chemical test results showed Egenlauf's blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
Egenlauf was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of Operating While Intoxicated Endangering a Person, a Class A misdemeanor, and held on a $1,500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
