Bourbon man arrested for public intoxication after walking in traffic on U.S. 30

A 53-year-old Bourbon man was arrested Saturday evening after multiple 911 callers reported him rolling in the median and walking in the active driving lanes of U.S. 30.

According to a news release from Deputy Robert Williams of the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, central dispatch received an initial 911 call at approximately 8:17 p.m. on May 2nd. The caller reported a male subject rolling around in the median near the intersection of U.S. 30 and King Road. Shortly after, a second caller alerted dispatch that the man had moved and was now walking in the driving lane.

Officers from the Marshall County Sheriff's Department and the Plymouth Police Department quickly responded to the area and located the man, identified as Eric L. Edington, 53, of 9^th Road in Bourbon.

Police noted that Edington appeared to be heavily intoxicated. A portable breath test was administered at the scene, which registered a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .217.

Edington was taken into custody and booked into the Marshall County Jail on a preliminary Class B misdemeanor charge of public intoxication. He was held on a $250 bond.
