
Jail Bookings
The following people were recently booked at the Fulton County Jail:
• Emily Zelaya, 31, Mishawaka, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant charging her with fraud and counterfeiting. She was picked up at the St. Joseph County Jail and held on a $10,000 cash bond.
• Derrick B. Little, 39, Knox, was arrested Thursday on preliminary charges of driving while suspended with a prior suspension within 10 years and possession of methamphetamine. He was taken into custody by sheriff's deputies at State Road 110 and 17 and held without bond.
Police Incidents
Animal incidents
• Shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday, animal control issued a warning to a woman residing in the 300 block of Fulton Avenue after her dog was found running loose. Police records indicate that it is an ongoing issue and citations will be issued going forward.
• Shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday, police received a report that a dog running loose in an area south of Talma attacked a neighbor's cat and damaged siding of a home. The dog owner was given a verbal warning, as the cat had not injures. A citation is to be issued in the future, and the cat owner was advised to keep it inside if domesticated.
• A Fulton resident surrendered their dog Wednesday morning following a report that it was tied up without food, water or shelter. Police records indicate that they had previously been warned by animal control, which ended up taking the dog to the Fulton County Animal Adoption and Education Center.
Theft
• Shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday, police received a report about the theft of a pink ballerina bar from a yard at Arbor Woods Apartments, 500 Mitchell Drive. It was later located in the back of a man's truck, with no charges to be pursued if he returned it.
Reckless
• At 7:36 p.m. Tuesday, police received a report that someone in a truck was doing burnouts in the area of State Road 110 and 17. The individual reportedly blew out a tire while doing so.
Suspicious
• Shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday, a resident near Delong reported that a man was captured on camera looking through their windows.
Fights
• Shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday, police received a report that a man trashed a home in the 400 block of North Troutman Street in Kewanna. A female resident wanted him removed. Police records indicate that a verbal altercation had ensued and the two were going to separate.
• At 5:02 p.m. Wednesady, police responded to a domestic dispute, allegeldy in the presence of children, at a residence in the 100 block of East Phillips Street in Kewanna. Both parties involved stated the altercation was verbal in nature and agreed to stay separated for the rest of the night.
Trespass request
• A woman was to be issued a no trespassing warning after allegedly driving onto property at 1913 N. Old U.S. 31 and yelling at workers on Wednesday.
Gun found
• At 1:01 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report that a gun and holster were found lying in the middle of the road near the intersection of County Road 200 West and Olson Road. It was taken into possession by an officer and kept on station.
Wreck
• A transport semi driven by Michael Stansberry, 46, of Osceola, hit a pole, taking out power lines, around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson and Water streets in Akron.
Crisis response
• Shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday, a woman reported that her son called her saying he had a gun and wanted to "go out by cops." The report prompted police to attempt to make contact with him at a residence in the 800 block of West Eighth St. Another male at the home reportedly advised that it was a BB gun, however, police could not be sure at the time. Additionally, he would not come outside. His mother would later state that he didn't have a gun and she had told him not to exit the home because it was surrounded. She was reportedly screaming at dispatch when advised that he needed to come out and speak with officers. He eventually did and was connected with a crisis response team of 4C Health.
