A deceased individual was discovered Sunday afternoon in the Yellow River near the U.S. 31 bridge north of U.S. 30, according to the Marshall County Coroner's Office.
Marshall County Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene at approximately 2:45 p.m. on June 28 after two people floating on the river came upon the body. The deceased is a male; his identity has not yet been released pending notification.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause and manner of death. The incident remains under active investigation by the Marshall County Coroner's Office, the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, and the Indiana State Police. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division also assisted at the scene.
