According to a Facebook posted shared from the Winamac Volunteer Fire Department, first responders were first called to the intersection of Riverside and E 13th St in Winamac just after 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15, about a crash that included three vehicles and three adult patients. While Pulaski EMS examined the patients the west and south side of that intersection was closed down by Winamac Police Officers, Pulaski County deputies and the Winamac Volunteer Fire Department. No severe or life threatening injuries were reported from that accident.
While still processing the accident, however, another vehicle accident occurred a block away to the immediate west of the ongoing accident at the intersection of 13th and Monticello St. The second accident involved four vehicles with a total of eight patients, involving both adults and minors. First responders were reported to have broke away from the scene of the first accident to check on the now second incident. No severe or life threatening injuries reported.
For a brief period of time, Monticello St was closed down by the Winamac Volunteer Fire Department until it could be opened for a single lane of traffic.
