4C Health celebrates planting roots in the ground with ribbon-cutting at new Winamac location

A ribbon cutting on Thursday, June 26, kicked off the official opening of 4C Health's at 2418 Curtis Dr., north of Winamac.

4C Health and Pulaski Memorial Hospital completed the buildings purchase earlier this month on June 4. The new 4C building in Winamac is the first location 4C Health has been able to officially plant its roots at in Pulaski County. First coming to the rural community in 1982, 4C Health had always previously rented or leased a building in several different locations in Winamac.

Following the pandemic, 4C Health partnered with Pulaski Memorial Hospital to lease space within the larger hospital campus. Seeing their vision of finding a goal a permanent home for Pulaski County services, Pulaski Memorial Hospital helped 4C Health with the purchase of the Curtis building, a former doctors office that has a long and rich history of healthcare service to community.

The ribbon cutting coincided with 4C Health's 50th anniversary. What began in 1975 with just a few committed community members has grown into a thriving agency. After five decades of dedicated behavioral health services to north central rural Indiana 4C now has more than 500 associates across seven counties.

As plans of expansion and growth continue for 4C Health, to help symbolize the planting of their roots a tree was placed in the front of the new building.

We have planted a tree out front with a sign that recognizes that what we are doing today is planting a tree for shade that we will never sit under, but there will be people beyond us who do sit under that,“ Dr. Carrie Cadwell, CEO of 4C Health said at during the ceremony.

BraunAbility was also recognized during the event with the Behavioral Health Champion - Business Champion of the Year 2025 award, highlighting the importance of local businesses and companies within the community who work side-by-side with 4C to ensure a better work environment for their employees.

“This award recognizes a partner who understands that workforce wellness is essential to a thriving business. BraunAbility continues to set a standard in supporting their team’s mental health and creating a workplace culture rooted in care and prevention,” said Dr. Cadwell.

The award comes after years of BraunAbility partnering with 4C Health to provide on-site access to behavioral health services for their employees. The company also invests in mental health training, and has their staff members complete both QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) programs, equipping them with the tools to support one another and respond effectively to mental health concerns in the workplace.

“We are honored to receive this recognition and to bring these support services to BraunAbility. We sincerely appreciate our partnership and look forward to more years of working with 4C to continue the efforts to bring mental health services that support our employees through personal challenges and help them be successful for both our organization and our community. Thank you to 4C for the continued dedication in making this happen,” stated Becky Croft, Medical Services Manager of BraunAbility states, who accepted the award for the company during Thursday's gathering.
