A traffic stop by Officer Wozniak with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department resulted in the arrest of a Pendleton woman.
On Tuesday, January 7th, at approximately 8:45 PM, the County Officer initiated a traffic stop on a black 2013 Honda on U.S. 31 near State Road 10.
During his investigation, a probable cause search of the vehicle was completed and the officer located suspected marijuana and a loaded firearm.
The driver, 20-year-old Camila A. Gonzales of Pendleton, was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in at 9:28 p.m. for possession of marijuana. Her cash bond of $250 was paid at 10:10 p.m. and she was released on bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
